Nurses Have Been the “Most Trusted Profession” for 20 Years in a Row
 

Nearing the second anniversary of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s clear this is a challenging moment for nurses. And yet, now is nursing’s moment.

 

Nurses have been ranked the “most trusted profession” by a Gallup poll for 20 years in a row. In fact, the last time nurses weren’t ranked the most trusted profession was in deference to firefighters the year after September 11.

Nurses are the “Most Trusted Profession” for 19 Years in a Row

This year, nurses also make up three of the top 10 “Best Health Care Jobs” as ranked by U.S. News & World Report, with nurse practitioners ranked no. 1, registered nurses no. 5, and nurse anesthetists no. 8.
