Weighing data from U.S. News & World Report, the National Center for Education Statistics, and PayScale.com, the rankings highlighted the programs that best balanced the cost of tuition with helping students meet their ultimate career goals.
What’s more, Johns Hopkins sits at the top in an area offering the best selection of nursing programs. WTOP looked at the list and noticed that five nursing schools in the DC area made College Choice‘s rankings. The University of Virginia (4), The University of Maryland (8), George Washington University (33), and Georgetown University (46) made the list for best nursing master’s degrees, making the DC-Baltimore area a hot-spot for nursing education.
With increasing demand for nurses, an advanced nursing degree could benefit greatly. US News and World Report ranked Nurse Practitioner as the No. 2 profession in the United States, with the median salary for an NP is $98,190, with a 0.7% unemployment and 44,700 jobs in the United States, making it one of the most in-demand jobs on the market.
