What Is a Hopkins Nurse?

PATRICIA MORTON
PHD, RN, FAAN, BSN ’77

I am so pleased to be honored by my alma mater. As a member of the first class to receive a BSN from Johns Hopkins University (class of 1977), I learned the skills of a pioneer!

At left, Jay Lenrow, JHU trustee and Alumni Council president, presents Dr. Morton with the Johns Hopkins University Distinguished Alumna Award at the annual Alumni Luncheon. After 33 years as an acute care nurse and faculty member at the University of Maryland, Dr. Morton became dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Utah, where she is also a tenured professor.
