Assistant Professor Jeanne Alhusen and Executive Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Marie Nolan have been spotlighted by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing for excellence in teaching and innovation.

Alhusen was recipient of the Didactic Novice Faculty Teaching Award for her instruction style that offers a versatile combination of academic, clinical, and research perspectives within the classroom. The AACN review committee cited her model of teaching as “innovative” and demonstrating “dedication to her students as well as her research.”

As recipient of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Excellence Award, Nolan takes a scientific and investigative approach to teaching and learning. She led the development of a PhD nursing education model in China as Johns Hopkins Director of the China Doctoral Program Partnership, and most recently, her leadership was critical in Hopkins’ development

of its progressive Master of Science in Nursing: Entry into Nursing curriculum.

Both will receive engraved awards, opportunities to present through AACN webinars, and recognition at an upcoming conference of their choice.
