Ah, Winter! It comes with its ups and downs, but for the 17-month Accelerated JHUSON Student, it means an ENTIRE MONTH OFF! I know that I tend to get into a lot of trouble when given breaks like this; as always, I forget that I’m a full-time student! We get to return to life and as many of my colleagues, I did so with a vengeance!
Upon completing my last final on 12/19, I began celebrating my freedom immediately! With the support of my wonderful bilingual friends, we facilitated an educational intervention in Spanish at the LaVida Nueva CenteringPregnancy® Program Baby Shower presented by Baltimore Healthy Start and Healthy Howard! It was so wonderful watching my colleagues in action and awesome to be in front of moms again.

Also this winter we’ve been pleasantly surprised with great news of receiving A Community Award from The March of Dimes for our Perinatal Education project and our promotion of The Safe Sleep message through Baltimore Healthy Start!

As if that excitement is not enough, this winter I celebrated the fact that I am Four Years a Mom with my 1st son’s 4th birthday. The excitement continued as my twin and I celebrate our birthday together on the inception of the New Year. I was even more amused about the stories of twins who were Born in 2 Separate Years! So intriguing!
