Dean Joins Clinton in Fight on Rx Drug Abuse

Health & WellnessPrescription drug overdoses now kill more Americans than heroin- and cocaine-related deaths combined, according to numbers provided by the Clinton Health Matters Initiative. Former President Bill Clinton visited Baltimore May 13 for the town hall “Prescription Drug Abuse: Evidence Informing Action” at the Bloomberg School of Public Health.

In opening the event, Dean Patricia Davidson, PhD, MEd, RN, FAAN, called prescription drug abuse a public health crisis. “Johns Hopkins is uniquely positioned to meet this crisis,” Davidson said, “and we embrace a moral obligation to help lead the way.”
