On May 25, 2006, 162 members of the Class of 2006—the School of Nursing’s largest to date—received their bachelor of science degrees. The graduates included 115 members of the Traditional Class of ’06 and 47 members of the 17-month program the school devised to address the nationwide shortage of nurses. In July, an additional 146 students in the 13-month accelerated class of 2006 are expected to receive their degrees and will become the SON’s largest accelerated class on record.

At the graduate program commencement ceremonies, 31 graduates received master of science in nursing (MSN) diplomas; 10 received joint degrees in nursing and public health (MSN/MPH); and six more received joint degrees in nursing and business administration (MSN/MBA). Three doctor of philosophy (PhD) degrees were conferred.
