ADMITTED-ly Impressed

Greetings everyone, allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Harvey and I’m one of the newest simulators admitted to the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing.  I haven’t been here long, but I really like this place. The other patients here are nice—and relatively quiet.  So far I’ve met Sim Man, Vital Sim, and Sim Baby.

The nurses sure know how to treat a patient.  I like when the students come in to observe.  I can already tell these people are bright.  Even though that stethoscope is really cold, I get a kick out of seeing the faces of the students as they listen to the beat of my heart. I also like overhearing what the students learn as they interact with me and the other patients as part of a landmark national study exploring the role of simulation in prelicensure clinical nursing education.

That’s why I’m dedicating this blog to everything I learn about simulation education, so others can learn too.

I think I’m going to enjoy my time at the School of Nursing.  After all, an exceptional place with such amazing people must have some great possibilities in store.
