Introduction of a Simulation Consortium Blog Site

harveyWelcome to the first post of a new Simulation blog site!

We look forward to building a learning community of interested readers and contributors on the topic of developing consortiums for effective health care simulation centers. We have seen that simulation pedagogy, while a relatively new area of health care education, is taking hold across the country and the globe. Health care educators and administrators are anxious to pursue the diffusion of this new innovation to improve the quality and safety of health care for patients.

Our goal is to publish at least two posts per week covering a variety of topics on simulation methodology, strategic planning, and implementation of simulation programs. We invite you to make comments and share your own thoughts and practices.

We will also regularly welcome posts from other contributors as new topics emerge and resource experts are identified through the dialogue that we envision occurring through your input.
Recent posts and most popular posts will be archived and made available for reading at any time.
Our role is to help facilitate ongoing discussions and provide a forum where the learning community can explore areas of interest, share their knowledge and expertise and apply effective practices in their simulation programs.

Some of the future topics to be covered in upcoming posts include:

  • The benefits of building a consortium
  • Sharing vision, mission, and values
  • Leadership governance structure and stewardship
  • Developing successful strategies for implementation
  • Establishing goals and meaningful outcomes
  • Planning for professional development
  • Sustaining simulation programs
  • Simulation design, practices, and evaluation
  • We look forward to your participation with us as we collectively seek to promote and improve our understanding of simulation education practices!
