Semester Wrap Up

Last week the second semester in the Accel ’12 program ended. Congrats! We’re half-nurses now. Does the mean that if someone gets sick on a plane we can try to help out? Better not risk it. Calling the end of the semester busy would be an understatement. It was packed. We had bake sales, the Dean’s dinner, a meetup at the Washington monument for the tree lighting, etc. Oh and finals. But we can all forget about that now, since the after party was oh so much better.

The lighting of the Mt. Vernon “tree” was actually of the Washington Monument. After the lighting, there was an impressive firework show given that this was held right in the middle of a residential/commercial area with many tall buildings in close proximity.

The building I live in decorated the entire first floor. There were also wreaths, a lit snowman, angel, and some grazing reindeer. I loved walking through all of it even before an early morning clinical.
The Marketing and Communications department decorated their office. “Occupy the North Pole” was the theme, I took pics of every part of their setup. Clever and funny, good job guys!

Also since it was cool but not snowing during the end of this semester, many of the students started dressing in pretty fashionable clothes. Here’s a small taste of the fashionistas that graced our halls:

Genna and Margaret, a little bit of summer and winter styles. This makes me wonder what the weather was like that day.
Katie and Marissa in our Older Adults class, obvious experts at layering.
And then, post Adult Health, our last final – bust out the plaid. Big smiles all around because we’re done with another semester!
