The Johns Hopkins Center for Global Mental Health is excited to host Angela Ofori-Atta at 4:30 pm March 13 at the Welch Medical Library-West Reading Room, 1900 E. Monument St. Her seminar: “Optimizing sociocultural resources to extend mental health care: evidence, digital mental health, and spirituality in Ghana.”
Professor Ofori-Atta is the chairperson of the Ghana Psychology Council, a practicing clinical psychologist, a researcher, and former head of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Ghana Medical School. Her research focuses on culturally appropriate service delivery in mental health, including introducing a digital psychosocial intervention (mHealer) paired with a psychiatric nurse (mobile nurse) that enables healers in prayer camps to use evidence-based psychosocial care.
