The second-annual celebration of An Evening With the Stars, which salutes nurses voted by their peers and supervisors as Johns Hopkins’ best, will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013 “along the boulevard of Johns Hopkins Nursing stars.”
The gala will be held again this year in the Anne M. Pinkard Building and its courtyard at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing (JHUSON), 525 N. Wolfe St. in Baltimore. In the meantime, nominations are being accepted for stellar nurses in three categories (submit by July 15):
Shining Hospital Star (two winners)
Nurses at any of the hospitals in the Johns Hopkins system who demonstrate clinical excellence in their area of nursing, improving the quality of patient care and making a significant difference in the nursing profession.
Shining Student Star
Students who exemplify leadership within the classroom or student organizations, participate in community outreach efforts through healthcare initiatives, and exhibit outstanding patient care in their clinical rotations.
Shining Faculty Star
Faculty who demonstrate excellence in teaching patient care, look for innovative ways to engage students and peers in local and global community healthcare programs, and connect with students through nursing organizations and activities.
All nominations will be sent to JHUSON and hospital selection committees, with finalists notified by August 5. Winners will be announced at the ceremony. (Learn about the 2012 winners.)
