Offer just one person the knowledge available through the End of Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) Train the Trainer Course and you’ve created a potential army of advocates for geriatric patients facing the end of life.
The two-day course offered January 18-19, 2013, at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing (JHUSON) is for nurses, social workers, nursing assistants and others who want to enhance their knowledge and teaching skills by working closely with renowned faculty from JHUSON, the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Participants will receive a wealth of resources and strategies that will allow them to replicate the experience.
“There’s a real multiplier effect here,” says Nancy Hodgson, PhD, RN, and assistant professor at JHUSON. “It’s not just about training individual caregivers. The idea is to give them knowledge they can pass on to peers within their care organizations.”
