Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing (JHUSON) alumnus Ronald Noecker, '07 is featured in the latest JHUSON podcast series.
In this podcast interview, Noecker discusses why he chose nursing, why it's so important for men and women to join the nursing profession, and how his music can offer his patients healing and hope that medicines and treatments cannot.
Originally a Catholic priest, Noecker was on sabbatical in Guatemala when he received the calling to become a nurse. In 2005, he enrolled at the JHUSON and is now an oncology nurse at the Johns Hopkins Hospital (JHH). Noecker is also a gifted pianist and vocalist who uses his music as part of his patients therapy. In 2008, he produced an audio CD, "Healing Songs at Christmas," that was given to patients at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at JHH.
