      MEN students graduating in Spring 2018 who plan to pursue an advanced level nursing degree within one to two years of graduating from JHSON should attend an information session to learn more about the Supporting Professional Advancement in Nursing (SPAN) Program.

      The Office for Science and Innovation is pleased to host Dr. David Newman-Toker who will lead a workshop entitled ‘Diagnostic Error and the Role of the Nurse on the Diagnostic Team’. Dr. Newman-Toker's academic mission is to eliminate harms from diagnostic errors and maximize the accuracy and efficiency of diagnostic testing in clinical practice.     • The Anti-Opression Series Time: 12:00pm - 1:15pm Location: JHU Bloomberg School of Public Health Details:

      What roles do the history and continuation of genocide, slavery, eugenics, and medical experimentation play in the lives of the communities we seek to serve? How can using an anti-oppressive lens help center the lived experiences and needs of marginalized populations to achieve equitable health access and better health outcomes? This fall LEAD [Liberate, Eradicate, Activate, to Dismantle] invites you to join  an interactive workshop series that provides students, faculty and staff with the  language and tools to incorporate anti-oppressive frameworks into public health practice.

      Workshop 1: Join us in the first of our anti-oppression series! In this workshop we will:

      • Build shared language to discuss and better understand anti-oppressive frameworks;
      • Critically reflect on the ways in which our personal intersecting identities affect our lived experiences and public health practice

      Offered on September 13th & 15th in room W3008 in Bloomberg from 12:00PM-1:20PM; lunch will be provided.
