      The Department of Health, Behavior and Society of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health invites faculty, students, post-doctoral scholars and fellows from all University divisions and centers, and the community to participate in the lunchtime Community-Based Participatory Research Seminar (CBPR Seminar). This interactive seminar series is designed to enhance our capacity as a university and community in CBPR. Course credit is optional and takes place on the first and third Mondays for the third and fourth term.

    • Dr. David Newman-Toker: Diagnostic Error and the Role of the Nurse on the Diagnostic Team Time: 12:00pm - 1:30pm Location: SON 10-Pinkard Bldg Details:

      The Office for Science and Innovation is pleased to host Dr. David Newman-Toker who will lead a workshop entitled ‘Diagnostic Error and the Role of the Nurse on the Diagnostic Team’. A focus of the Center for Diagnostic Excellence is to engage nurses and other allied health professionals in efforts to reduce diagnostic error. Dr. Newman-Toker's talk will be focused on the vital role of the nurse in medical diagnoses, and the need for nurses to overcome sociocultural barriers and take part in leading efforts achieve diagnostic excellence.

      Lunch will be provided and this workshop will be recorded. Please RSVP to the Office for Science and Innovation.

      The Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) is debuting a new lecture series, “Third Thursdays with the ICTR”. Each month, speakers will share research related news and showcase a resource and/or service that can aid clinical research study team members. Mark Garcia, administrator, and faculty will discuss the National Center for Translational Sciences (NCATS) policy change affecting those using the ICTR’s clinical research units. All are encouraged to attend, particularly those responsible for grant budgets.
