      The Experience of Stroke as a Patient and the Impact of Nurses on Outcomes

      Maggie Whittum survived a hemorrhagic stroke, caused by a brainstem cavernous angioma, at age 33. She has presented on the topic of stroke recovery for Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Denver University and Marymount University. She enjoys making art, riding her recumbent trike, and performing with Phamaly Theatre Company, which exclusively casts actors with disabilities! Maggie lives with many challenges including facial paralysis, visual impairments, and chronic pain. She is creating a documentary film on stroke, disability, loss and resilience entitled 'The Great Now What'.

      Join Johns Hopkins School of Nursing for an Information Session and learn about the many possibilities in a nursing career.  By attending this event, you will learn about the school’s program highlights, application requirements and discuss the nursing career opportunities. Additionally, you will meet other like-minded individuals exploring the nursing landscape. This information is for non-nurses wanting to become RN licensed nurses and current nurses thinking about next steps in their careers.  We offer online programs for the current nurses and we will be highlighting our new CRNA program and have faculty there to answer questions!
