    • Cleveland Clinic, Nursing Institute: 15th Annual Clinical Research Conference Time: All Day Locations: Off-Campus or Various Locations Details:

      This annual clinical research conference provides an opportunity for healthcare professionals, clinical experts, and academic professionals to share findings specific to clinical research. The conference boasts nationally renowned keynotes speakers, twenty-four oral research presentations, and over 50 poster presentations. In addition, 12 workshops (advanced and beginner levels) that include themes on statistics, design, and methodology make this conference an exceptional opportunity to gain new knowledge that could affect clinical programs of research. An interdisciplinary approach to facilitate future collaborative projects.

      Conference Objectives:

      • Provide a forum for research collaboration and partnerships between clinicians at various institutions (clinical and academic).
      • Foster a culture of inquiry through sharing (dissemination) of research (podium and poster).
      • To enhance knowledge of methodological issues specific to clinical research.
      • Contribute to the dissemination and translation of new knowledge through discussions, networking, and workshops.

    • REDCap for Project Management, Data Collection, and Data Management Time: 12:00pm - 1:30pm Locations: SON 10-Pinkard Bldg Details:

      The Office for Science and Innovation (OSI) is pleased to announce that Erin Spaulding, PhD Candidate, will be hosting a workshop with a focus on using REDCap for project management, data collection, and data management.

       Are you considering whether you should use REDCap to collect and manage data for your study? Are you planning to use REDCap but are not sure how to get started in setting up your project? Do you have a REDCap project up and running but are also simultaneously using other methods for project management and data collection like Excel? If so, you should attend this workshop on using REDCap for project management, data collection, and data management. Topics to be covered include: what REDCap offers over other data collection and management systems, REDCap tiers, using REDCap for screening participants and general project management, developing data entry forms and surveys for various study designs, managing user rights and data access groups, generating reports, and exporting data to statistical software. 

      Erin Spaulding is the Project Coordinator for the Johns Hopkins, Myocardial infarction, COmbined-device, Recovery Enhancement (MiCORE) study. As such, she developed and now manages a multi-site REDCap project for this study.
