Join the Nursing Students for Harm Reduction and Bianca Palmisano, MSN, RN, for this valuable workshop on conducting a sexual health history. This workshop will focus on creating a safe, open environment for your patient and how to use sex positive language and questions to take a sexual health history in the hospital setting.
Bianca (they/them) is a JHU Master’s Entry into Nursing graduate, author, and health and sex educator based in Washington, DC. Please join us to learn, discuss, and ask any questions you may have about taking a sex positive health history!

An abundance of information is discussed and we hope you will join us. This is a collegial, relaxed forum to meet other Clinical Nurse Specialists and ask them your questions about practice and “real-life” as a CNS. We’ll welcome our special guests, Dr. Mitzi Saunders PhD, APRN, CNS-C from the University of Detroit Mercy and Dr. Paul Thurman, PhD, RN, ACNPC, CCNS, CCRN from the University of Maryland. The COMPASS journal club is an opportunity for SON students to critically evaluate recent articles from academic literature on subjects related to our mission and vision. The journal club aims to create awareness about current issues, research, opportunities, and initiatives.
Through journal club, we hope to foster opportunities for JHU students and faculty to dialogue about current issues in the field. We encourage participants to share their view regarding the appropriateness of the research design, statistical methods employed, and conclusions drawn from the findings. The COMPASS center welcomes full time faculty and students to attend.
