      Join JHSAP for an interactive workshop that encourages you, as a nursing student to reflect on your visible and invisible identities and how those identities impact you in both academic and personal settings. Special focus is given to resiliency factors in the face of identity-related challenges.

      Hannah Fegley, LCSW-C, and the session facilitator, is a clinician and program manager of the Johns Hopkins Student Assistance Program (JHSAP).

      Hannah is passionate about serving college and graduate students and has over 7 years of experience working with a student population in both academic and outpatient settings providing counseling, case management, crisis intervention and workshops. Hannah’s graduate education (MSW) at Smith College had a strong social justice focus; and that education combined with her personal and professional experiences have deepened her commitment to providing care to students from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

    • Film Screening - The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind + Discussion with Malawi RPCVs Time: 5:30pm - 8:30pm Locations: 525 North Wolfe Street, Baltimore MD Details: The RPCV Community invites you to participate in the screening of the film "The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind" - the true story of a boy who built a wind turbine for his village in Malawi. After the film there will be a panel discussion with Returned Peace Corps Volunteers who served in Malawi. Dinner will be provided.

      Johns Hopkins School of Nursing is known for its excellence in research locally and globally. This Black History Month, we want to celebrate underrepresented minorities involved in innovative research here at JHSON and highlight their contributions to this legacy. From Dr. Fannie Gaston-Johansson, the first African-American woman to be tenured at JHU, to current faculty, doctorate students, clinical nurse researchers and more, diverse researchers are making great strides in promoting health equity and social justice. This event provides an opportunity to learn more about these researchers, network with faculty, alumni, and fellow students, and find out how you can get involved. Food and drinks provided.

      UHS Wellness is sponsoring a free yoga class at the Cooley Center!  Our outdoor series is coming indoors for the winter at a new time. Join us on Wednesday evenings (7:15-8:15 pm) to flow through your week with certified yoga instructor and preventive medicine resident Margarita Ramos. You do not need to have a Cooley Center membership or buy class passes to participate. This class is free to all students and trainees! Mats are provided; no registration necessary.

    • Pitt Prehealth Summit Networking Fair 2019 Time: 12:00am - 12:30pm Locations: Off-Campus or Various Locations Details: The Coalition of Pre-Health Students (CPHS) is a student led umbrella organization at the University of Pittsburgh with the goal of representing the collective voices of the pre-health students. Currently, CPHS represents 15 individual undergraduate organizations and over 700 students, and strives to make a positive impact for the entire pre-health community at Pitt. The Coalition works to advocate to the administration on behalf of students, spread information about pre-health events on campus, and plan programming relevant to its mission.  Registration is required through and JHSON will be exhibiting.
    • Maryland Association of Nursing Students Convention 2019 Time: 8:00am - 4:00pm Locations: Off-Campus or Various Locations Details: JHSON will exhibit at this event.  It is a great way to meet other nursing students from all over Maryland and to network with many hospitals and vendors who attend.  Registration for this event is through MANS at
