This strategy has been highly productive in forming collaborations to help bring papers back to life. An abundance of information is discussed and we hope you will join us. Be sure your computer has Java properly installed and enabled, and your pop up blocker is turned off in order to successfully log into the chat.       The COMPASS journal club is an opportunity for SON students to critically evaluate recent articles from academic literature on subjects related to our mission and vision. The journal club aims to create awareness about current issues, research, opportunities, and initiatives.

      Through journal club, we hope to foster opportunities for JHU students and faculty to dialogue about current issues in the field. We encourage participants to share their view regarding the appropriateness of the research design, statistical methods employed, and conclusions drawn from the findings.  The COMPASS center welcomes full time faculty and students to attend.

    • Virtual Nursing Grand Rounds: Reproductive Coercion Time: 11:30am - 12:00pm Locations: Online Details:

      The Johns Hopkins School of Nursing in partnership with the Nu Beta at Large Chapter of Sigma will offer a monthly Virtual Nursing Grand Rounds Continuing Nursing Education Series, providing an educational program led by top researchers from around the world.

      In this grand rounds, Dr. Karen Trister Grace, ’19 from George Mason University will state risk factors and health outcomes associated with reproductive coercion, and summarize research subtopics related reproductive coercion. Attendees will understand intersecting concepts of intimate partner violence (IPV) and pregnancy intention.

      The Virtual Nursing Grand Rounds Series will offer attendees one free contact hour upon completion of a post-event quiz after each session, with the goal of fulfilling the JHSON’s mission of providing lifelong learning for health care professionals within the community. 

      The Virtual Nursing Grand Rounds is sponsored by the Nu Beta at Large Chapter of Sigma, the Honor Society of Nursing. The Nu Beta Chapter was established at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing in 1992. In 2018, the Johns Hopkins Health System joined the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing to become the first At-Large Chapter of Sigma.       Are you looking for a way to make meaningful change in your community while completing your studies? Apply to be a SOURCE Service Scholar in 2022-2023! Join us for the upcoming SOURCE Service Scholars Information Session on Wed, June 29 via Zoom to learn more about the program.

      SOURCE Service Scholars (SSS) presents a unique opportunity for students to make an impact by completing 150 hours of community-based practice at a Baltimore community-based organization (CBO) that is a SOURCE partner while receiving a $1,750 stipend. Projects have already been identified by community partners and aim to address urgent priorities for each participating organization.
