Title: “The ‘blueprint’ to leveraging cultural adversity to discover your true superpower in nursing”

Tyrin has spent 10 years as a healthcare professional. Tyrin is best known for his YouTube channel “TheUrbanNurse” in which he speaks about his experiences in nursing from the raw perspective of a black male. TheUrbanNurse seeks to help other nurses of color navigate the hostile work environments, social biases, and high-stress atmosphere of nursing.

In recent years, Tyrin has expanded his focus from clinical nursing practice to include becoming a wealth curator for traveling nurses within his network. Through real estate investing and entrepreneurship, he’s found his passion for wealth development and legacy creation. Having acquired his ASAA Investment Advisers License, Tyrin aims to bring awareness to the importance of financial independence guided by personal and professional development.

You'll get the chance to see how the courses are setup, what laboratory assignments might look like, and get a general feel for what it is like taking your prerequisite courses with us.

The COMPASS journal club is an opportunity for SON students to critically evaluate recent articles from academic literature on subjects related to our mission and vision. The journal club aims to create awareness about current issues, research, opportunities, and initiatives.

Through journal club, we hope to foster opportunities for JHU students and faculty to dialogue about current issues in the field. We encourage participants to share their view regarding the appropriateness of the research design, statistical methods employed, and conclusions drawn from the findings.  The COMPASS center welcomes full time faculty and students to attend.

20th Annual Atlanta University Center Health Professional School Recruitment Fair (AUC), uniting Spelman College, Clark Atlanta University, and Morehouse College. Our representing, which represents the AUC undergraduate  institutions, serves over 1000 pre-health professions students. SOURCE Service Scholars (SSS) presents a unique opportunity for students to make an impact by completing 150 hours of community-based practice at a Baltimore community-based organization (CBO) that is a SOURCE partner while receiving a $1,750 stipend. Projects have already been identified by community partners and aim to address urgent priorities for each participating organization.
