    • American Public Health Association Philadelphia Conference 2019 Time: Sat. 11/2 8:00am - 8:30am Locations: Philadelphia, PA Details: APHA's Annual Meeting and Expo is the largest annual gathering of public health professionals. More than 12,000 people attend, and thousands of new abstracts are presented each year, making APHA 2019 the most influential meeting in public health. Registration is required through APHA at .       School of Nursing Student Senate Representative Meeting, all senators and representatives  are required to attend.  Members of the student body are welcome to observe; and per constitution have the option to offer suggestions, feedback, and express grievances after all other senate business has been completed.  To submit suggestions for Senate review, please complete the form here.

      Johns Hopkins School of Nursing (JHSON) invites you to explore educational and career opportunities as you network and connect with JHSON alumni, prospective students, current students, and colleagues. Each event is an opportunity to grow your network and a chance to leverage the Hopkins legacy – from nursing student to career professional. Each event will include:

      5:30 - 6:30 PM:

      • JHSON program and admissions information session with Sharon Warner
      • Career coaching session with Laura Arthur

      6:30 - 8:30 PM: Networking and socializing with light refreshments and cheer

      Alumni Registration:

    • Leveraging the Legacy Info Sessin with Alumni Meet and Greet (New York City) Time: 5:30pm - 8:30pm Locations: Off-Campus or Various Locations Details: "Leveraging the Legacy-from nursing student to career professional there is always room to grow".  Join representatives from Admissions, Alumni Development and current faculty to give you a full spectrum look into the nursing career opportunities that await you.  Information session offered the first hour followed by the opportunity to network with alumni working in the New York area.     • The Third Interprofessional Education (IPE) Event - Session 2: November 6, 2019 Time: 5:30pm - 8:00pm Locations: Armstrong Medical Education Building Details: This required IPE event for 3rd and 4th semester nursing students will focus on interprofessional communication.
    • Unpacking Privilege Unlocking Justice Time: 5:30pm - 7:30pm Locations: SON 217-Pinkard Bldg Details: Social Identity. Social Justice. Privilege. What does it all mean?

      Please join Session 3 of the Social Justice Series – This 90 minute interactive workshop will highlight the ways in which we all enjoy privilege based on being members of social and personal identity groups. The goal of the workshop is to identify specific ways we can use our privilege to create a more just and caring world where each person is treated with the respect and dignity they deserve. Participants will:

      • Learn and examine the definitions of privilege, identity, and social justice

      • Illuminate their own privilege as individuals

      • Discuss ways in which they can use their privilege in their personal and professional lives to help create a just and caring world
