      Join colleagues for the SOURCE SON Staff Day of Service, a morning of service with a Baltimore community-based organization. This event is co-sponsored by SOURCE and the SON Staff Committee. Volunteers will be supporting Moveable Feast with food preparation in their kitchen.


      Participation is limited, so register today! To register, please email SOURCE@jhu.edu with your full name, email address, cell phone number, and any dietary restriction. FREE lunch will be provided after the service project. The group will take a van from SON to the service site and back.

      This opportunity is open to individuals to participate during work hours without having to take leave or PTO. Advanced permission must be given by your direct supervisor.

      The Experience of Stroke as a Patient and the Impact of Nurses on Outcomes

      Maggie Whittum survived a hemorrhagic stroke, caused by a brainstem cavernous angioma, at age 33. She has presented on the topic of stroke recovery for Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Denver University and Marymount University. She enjoys making art, riding her recumbent trike, and performing with Phamaly Theatre Company, which exclusively casts actors with disabilities! Maggie lives with many challenges including facial paralysis, visual impairments, and chronic pain. She is creating a documentary film on stroke, disability, loss and resilience entitled 'The Great Now What'.

      Please come and listen to a patient’s perspective.
