Join a small group of prospective students for an information session highlighting academic programs and opportunities available at JHUSON. Presentation will be followed by time for prospective students to ask specific questions about their desired programs with admissions officers.

Pioneered by Ariadne Labs, TeamBirth is an innovative approach to improve communication and teamwork in childbirth and ensure women have shared input in decision-making. Using human-centered design, TeamBirth operationalizes best practices that reduce inequities in childbirth outcomes. Join moderator Ahrin Mishan, Executive Director for the Rita and Alex Hillman Foundation, and TeamBirth Director Dr. Amber Weiseth who will share her experience scaling this novel program nationally.

About the Built to Scale Series
The Built to Scale series, offered via Zoom through the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing RESILIENCE Center, explores challenges and successes in scaling evidence-based health interventions.

The COMPASS journal club is an opportunity for SON students to critically evaluate recent articles from academic literature on subjects related to our mission and vision. The journal club aims to create awareness about current issues, research, opportunities, and initiatives.

Through journal club, we hope to foster opportunities for JHU students and faculty to dialogue about current issues in the field. We encourage participants to share their view regarding the appropriateness of the research design, statistical methods employed, and conclusions drawn from the findings.  The COMPASS center welcomes full time faculty and students to attend.

Members will be presented information regarding SNA board members, structure of SNA/NSNA, SNA/NSNA core values, upcoming point opportunities to include community/volunteer events, upcoming board leadership opportunities for the semester, as well as host guest speakers/panelists

An abundance of information is discussed and we hope you will join us. The Fellowship of Christian Nurses (FCN) seeks to provide a space for JHUSON students to engage in encouraging Christian fellowship. We aim to foster outlets for JHUSON community to deepen their understanding of how the Christian faith interacts with nursing while creating lasting relationships between peers and faculty members of faith. We invite you to join our weekly virtual bible studies on Tuesdays from 6-7:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome!

At this workshop, I will discuss the basics of Intellectual Property: copyright, trademark and Patents, focusing on copyrights. I will aim to lay out ownership of Intellectual Property when the creator is a faculty member and graduate student and how that effects JHU ownership. I will share tips in order to safeguard your work from outside changes and how to commercialize and the role JHTV plays in that, e.g. licensing and royalties.

For Conflict of Interest, I will review current JHU and SON policies, e-disclose and the annual disclosure requirement.

Join us for a Diversity Dimensions Experience focused on JHSON’s commitment to diversity and inclusion in our admissions process. Each month will highlight a different focus on the diverse and unique population and their potential impact on the nursing profession.

For this month, Assistant Director of Diversity Initiatives, Alexander Murphy, will facilitate a discussion on the research, education, and practice of Black nurses. This discussion will detail the historical experience of black nurses and the impact these nurses have on the profession.
