Attend Doctors Without Borders/ Médecins Sans Frontières' recruitment webinar to learn how you can join our pool of dedicated field staff!

On Thursday, December 1, medical and non-medical professionals are invited to join us for an evening presentation to learn more about how you can join Doctors Without Borders’ pool of dedicated aid workers.

An aid worker and Field Human Resources Officer will discuss requirements and the application process, and you'll meet experienced Doctors Without Borders aid workers from the area and hear their firsthand stories of "life in the field."

The presentation will last 90 minutes, including Q&A.

Summer Clinical Requests & New Affiliation Agreements

SOURCE is currently collecting new and unused winter accessories (gloves, mittens, socks, scarves, hats and hand warmers) to donate to Baltimore families through its partnering community-based organizations. Donations are being collected through Friday, December 16. Drop off your items in the donation bin located in the SON Lobby.

Through lecture, discussion, and demonstrations led by the program developers and certified CPP Group Leaders, you will gain the hands-on knowledge and skills and the program materials needed to implement the CPP in your agency or practice.

Objectives
 

• Understand the theory and research underlying the CPP model
• Understand the meaning and purpose of the evidence-based parenting strategies taught in the CPP
• Understand how the different components of the CPP are used to promote parents’ confidence and competence in managing their children’s behavior
• Develop beginning competence in implementing the CPP

Summer Clinical Requests & New Affiliation Agreements

Our invited guest speaker Nodar Kipshidze from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health will be presenting a current study under review that evaluated the global impact of COVID-19 vaccine inequities. Mr. Kipshidze is an epidemiologist, whose research focuses on the modeling of transmission dynamics using both compartmental and network models, with a special focus on emerging and reemerging zoonotic diseases. In addition, he has been examining at the impacts of vaccine inequity both in the US and globally. Prior to Columbia to pursue his MS, Nodar completed his MPH in Global Health at NYU in 2017 and has been overseeing a variety of industry-sponsored clinical trials for over seven years.

Join us for a Zoom info session where we will answer your questions regarding our online prerequisite courses and provide a virtual tour of some of our classrooms. You'll get the chance to see how the courses are setup, what laboratory assignments might look like, and get a general feel for what it is like taking your prerequisite courses with us.

Join us for a Diversity Dimensions Experience focused on JHSON’s commitment to diversity and inclusion in our admissions process. Each month will highlight a different focus on the diverse and unique population and their potential impact on the profession of nursing.

For this month, Assistant Director of Diversity Initiatives, Alexander Murphy will facilitate a discussion on the importance of Nursing practice and research to create more equitable access to healthcare in low socioeconomic and rural areas. This discussion will address initiatives that Hopkins implements to create equitable Nursing care in both local and global communities.
