On Thursday, December 1, medical and non-medical professionals are invited to join us for an evening presentation to learn more about how you can join Doctors Without Borders’ pool of dedicated aid workers.
An aid worker and Field Human Resources Officer will discuss requirements and the application process, and you'll meet experienced Doctors Without Borders aid workers from the area and hear their firsthand stories of "life in the field."
The presentation will last 90 minutes, including Q&A.

Our invited guest speaker Nodar Kipshidze from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health will be presenting a current study under review that evaluated the global impact of COVID-19 vaccine inequities. Mr. Kipshidze is an epidemiologist, whose research focuses on the modeling of transmission dynamics using both compartmental and network models, with a special focus on emerging and reemerging zoonotic diseases. In addition, he has been examining at the impacts of vaccine inequity both in the US and globally. Prior to Columbia to pursue his MS, Nodar completed his MPH in Global Health at NYU in 2017 and has been overseeing a variety of industry-sponsored clinical trials for over seven years.

The COMPASS journal club is an opportunity for SON students to critically evaluate recent articles from academic literature on subjects related to our mission and vision. The journal club aims to create awareness about current issues, research, opportunities, and initiatives.
Through journal club, we hope to foster opportunities for JHU students and faculty to dialogue about current issues in the field. We encourage participants to share their view regarding the appropriateness of the research design, statistical methods employed, and conclusions drawn from the findings. The COMPASS center welcomes full time faculty and students to attend.
