In light of the current political climate, many students find themselves frustrated and erased, in ways that many local Baltimore residents do. Additionally, students have expressed a desire to learn more about how to be active and involved in important policy change. SOURCE looks forward to providing an opportunity to have speakers from local community-based organizations present their work on legislative matters to Hopkins audiences.

This event will:

  • Outline legislative issues of concern in Baltimore, Maryland, and nationally
  • Feature a panel of local community-based organizations with legislative agendas
  • Provide an opportunity for audience members to ask questions and sign up to help with any campaign and advocacy work the organizations have identified

  • Tricia Christensen - Legislative Advocacy Coordinator, Baltimore Harm Reduction Coalition
  • Cassandra Crifasi - Assistant Professor, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health
  • Lawrence Grandpre - Activist, Educator and Writer
  • Mark Procopio - Executive Director, FreeState Justice

12:00 - 1:30 in JHSPH Room W3008
