Cocktails & Conversations: Achieving Health Equity through Shared Decision Making
Nurses are critical to solving our most pressing and persistent health challenges. The social reckoning, ongoing pandemic, and other health inequities have highlighted opportunities for nurse leaders, clinicians, and researchers to drive structural changes for their unique contexts. Responding to evolving imperatives of the nursing profession, this event will explore the role of nurses in promoting equity in shared decision-making to drive health outcomes and dismantle practices that perpetuate racism and oppression.
Attendees will enjoy cocktails and refreshments as they engage in a peer dialogue about ways to integrate principles of social justice into nursing practice and health policy in one of the following discussions:
1. Breaking Down Structures that Perpetuate Racism and Affect Health Outcomes
2. Multi-Level Interventions to Address Social Determinants of Health across the Lifespan
3. Holistic Approaches to Advance Health Outcomes across the Lifespan
