The Office for Science and Innovation (OSI) is pleased to announce that Dr. Melissa Hladek, will be leading a presentation entitled, “Training & Techniques for Research Interviews” designed for anyone involved in data collection from research participants.

Are you involved in research participant interviews? Have you ever thought about the best techniques for conducting research interviews? A research interview is different from a clinical encounter with a patient and requires specific ethics and techniques. Come learn about common interview pitfalls and ways to avoid them to ensure your data is collected appropriately.

Topics to be covered include, role of the interviewer, professional neutrality, training the respondent, non-direct probing, communication, and accurately recording answers. Scenarios will be used throughout to illustrate best practices.
