Nursing and Midwifery Leadership: An Rx for the Global Human Resources for Health Crisis

Jhpiego and the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing will host a special event on the role of global nursing leadership in ensuring a robust, competent health workforce in the developing world.

 

Together with the wider Johns Hopkins community, Jhpiego and the School of Nursing will begin formulating a strategic plan for addressing the global human resources for health (HRH) shortage.

 

Topics will include: Increasing quality education for nurses and midwives globally, ensuring scopes of practice honor the full capacity of nurses and midwives, improving nursing and midwifery representation in global leadership positions.

Highlights of the day: Diverse representation of the Hopkins community, an update from the 2013 Global HRH Conference (Recife, Brazil), shared experiences of nurse-led initiatives to address HRH challenges by Johns Hopkins School of Nursing faculty and Jhpiego programs, round table discussions, and action-planning.
