Henderson Hopkins Health Fair
Health, Fun, and the Sun
Henderson-Hopkins School for their annual health and wellness fair. I volunteered alongside members of the Student Nurses Association (SNA) and other members of the School of Nursing community. The event took place from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. In the morning, we set up stations outside of the school where students of all ages could stop by and learn about various health topics. There were stations focused on nutrition, vision, dental health, hand washing, yoga, blood pressure, and more! Each child was given a “health passport” when they came outside, would try to go to as many stations as possible, and receive a stamp.

"I was lucky enough to work at the blood pressure station where I learned a lot about focusing and multitasking. The kids were SO excited to have their blood pressures taken and were fantastic patients. They may have also been excited because our hot pink dolphin stamp was a hot commodity but I like to think it was more because of their love of health screenings. Later in the evening, the health fair was adjusted to serve the family members of the students and included valuable health care information and screening, resources, and free food!"
