Students interested in Johns Hopkins Hospital must email Sarah Firestone, email@example.com, to express interest in SPAN and the units or service area they are interested in as soon as possible and before the application deadline of October 9, 2019. Placements will be arranged according to student interest, acceptance to the SPAN Program and JHH unit needs/interest.

Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital’s (MWPH) main campus is located on W. Rogers Ave in the beautiful and historic neighborhood of Mount Washington. The 87-bed location provides inpatient services to families with infants, kids and youth at the Center for Neonatal Transitional Care (CNTC) and the Center for Pediatric and Adolescent Rehabilitation (CPAR). MWPH also offers a wide range of outpatient services, seeing over 50,000 young patients annually. Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital (MWPH) at UM Prince George's Hospital Center in Cheverly has 13-beds that offer a wide range of treatment options for many different conditions. Sibley Memorial Hospital is located in beautiful Northwest Washington, D.C. Sibley has a distinguished history of serving the community since its founding in 1890. As a not-for-profit, full-service, community hospital, Sibley offers medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopedic and skilled nursing inpatient services and a brand new Emergency Department. As a member of the Johns Hopkins Health System, nurses at Sibley enjoy a culture of community oriented, relationship-based care with access to all of the resources of a world-class health system. They recently opened a brand new emergency department and moved into a brand new, state of the art hospital building in September 2016.
Renaissance Skilled Nursing Facility is located on the campus of Sibley Memorial Hospital and provides an interdisciplinary rehabilitation program that is specifically tailored to help people become more independent. It serves as a bridge between acute care and unassisted living, providing a more focused and consistent level of support and attention than what would be available in a traditional rehabilitation setting. Our mission is to provide safe, quality nursing care to the postoperative, orthopedic and elderly population, respond to their needs with both caring and clinical expertise.

Sibley is committed to placing all qualified and interested SPAN students (up to 6 students). In the past they have offered placements in the following service areas: Emergency Department, ICU/Telemetry, Oncology (Inpatient with time in Medical Oncology/Infusion outpatient), Women/ Infants/ Children (includes post-partum, L and D and Special Care Nursery), Orthopaedics, Renaissance Skilled Nursing Facility, Surgical Services (includes exposure to all areas of the continuum of surgical care). This is not an exhaustive list. Please view their website to get a sense of the service areas they can offer.
