“The research mission of the School of Nursing is to conduct innovative research and disseminate knowledge that promotes health and advances science globally.”

Opening in 1990, the Center for Nursing Research and Sponsored Projects, now known as the Nursing Office of Research Administration (NORA), has encouraged leadership for nursing research within the School, University, community and profession, and facilitates excellence in nursing research. Research is coordinated between the SON-NORA, Office of Finance Administration, and Johns Hopkins University Research Administration as well as Johns Hopkins Medical Institutes.

Mission

Nursing Office of Research Administration (NORA) was developed to facilitate excellence in nursing research.  The NORA is an integral part of JHSON, contributing significantly to faculty and student research efforts by offering programs and resources to support the development, submission, conduct, and publication of research; and by providing the needed information technology to foster research. The OSI works in collaboration with JHSON department chairs and Center faculty, Development and Alumni Relations, Marketing and Communications, the PhD Program Director, and many other departments and support offices in the JHSON to provide a supportive environment for faculty, students, and staff involved in nursing research.
