S. Atdjian: Faculty Directory

Overview

Dr. Atdjian holds a joint appointment with the School of Medicine and is a distinguished fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. She is board certified in psychiatry and addiction psychiatry. Dr. Atdjian’s areas of specialty are education; the prevention of violence and the use of seclusion and restraints; the implementation of trauma-informed practices; the psychotherapy of co-occurring trauma-related and substance use disorders; and diversity and cultural issues in mental health assessment and psychotherapy. Dr. Atdjian has been the recipient of numerous awards for excellence in teaching, including the APA’s Roeske Certificate of Recognition for Excellence in Medical Student Education and its Bland Award for Excellence in Resident Education. Dr. Atdjian joins the growing Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program.
