Lourdes Celius is a clinical faculty member, clinical coordinator, simulation, and lab instructor in the Master’s (Entry into Nursing Practice) program. She earned her master’s in nursing from the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing and her doctor of nursing practice degree as a family nurse practitioner (FNP) with a concentration in primary care in 2022.

She worked full-time as a psychiatric nurse at a mental health facility in Baltimore as she completed her doctoral degree. Dr. Celius also specializes in trauma-informed care and verbal de-escalation strategies for improved patient health outcomes and works part time as an FNP at a private clinic in Baltimore County.

Dr. Celius works to improve the patient care experience. As a nurse practitioner, she has seen the importance of providing patients and their families with quality primary care, particularly in lower-resource settings, to reduce the likelihood of future advanced care interventions. Her goal is to make health care more accessible and equitable to all. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, American Psychiatric Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society.
