Biography

Sherri Jones has 30 years of experience as a nursing professional at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. She has served as a clinical nurse, clinical instructor, nurse manager, coordinator for nursing programs, and special projects liaison for JHH medical campus expansion. Jones is currently Assistant Director of Pediatric Nursing, overseeing nursing quality and safety programs for the Bloomberg Children’s Center along with many other operation responsibilities. She has oversight of case management, pediatric nurse practitioners, regulatory and compliance, patient safety event reporting, and all nursing quality measures. Jones has an MS in Nursing, Health Systems Management and a Certificate in Business of Nursing from the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing.

Improving nursing handoff, between-unit transitions of patient care in the children’s center

Major Achievement(s)

  • One of two nurses who participated in a new clinical building medical expansion project in 2012 at the Johns Hopkins Hospital as a key member of the NCB Lead Team. Intimately involved with planning for the move of roughly 500 patients from one building to another, nursing orientation to new floorplan, design of new daily workflows, IT competencies, furniture and equipment planning, and as liaison to contractors and administrators for day-to-day questions.
  • Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality Patient Safety Fellowship program
