Biography

Emma Daza is a wound ostomy clinical nurse specialist for the Saudi Aramco Medical Services Organization in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. She has nearly 23 years of experience as a nurse and believes there is a clear correlation between a higher level of nursing education and better patient outcomes.

DNP Scholarly Project

Holistic, culturally appropriate ways to assist Muslim patients who have an ostomy or stoma after surgery

Major Achievement(s)

  • Involved in several committees and task forces to provide best practice and quality care to patients
  • Co-established the protocol for a new Diabetic Foot Clinic in Saudi Aramco Medical Services Organization (SAMSO) and one of the main proponents of this policy for the multi-disciplinary clinic. This clinic evolved from the organization key performance indicator to reduce lower extremity amputation and other complications related to the diabetic foot.
  • Led nurse wound ostomy clinic to serve outpatient population with complex needs related to wound and ostomy issues
