  • Brown Bag Lunch & Learn; HRSA Loan Repayment Program
  • September 26
  • The Student Financial Services will be hosting a “Brown Bag Lunch & Learn” seminar to introduce the "HRSA Loan Repayment Program."  This seminar is open to all interested students on Wednesday September 26th from 12:30 – 1:30 pm in Carpenter Room (1st floor, Pinkard Building).

    Their loan repayment program assists students in paying down their debt after graduation while serving as a full-time nurse.  You will be able to ask questions about the program, the various requirements, and the best time to take advantage of this opportunity as you begin your nursing career. 

    Space is limited so please arrive as soon as possible and bring your lunch!  Students who are unable to attend may request a recorded copy of the session by email.

  • Hopkins Nutrition 2018: Celebrating a Century of Nutritional Discovery for Public Health

  • On Wednesday, October 10th, Johns Hopkins is celebrating a Century of Nutritional Discovery for Public Health, commemorating publication of the 1st edition of Elmer V. McCollum’s “The Newer Knowledge of Nutrition” in 1918, America’s 1st modern textbook in nutritional science. Over the century, the School has established a legacy of leadership, discovery and action to advance public health nutrition.  A special program has been prepared to recognize our origins, discoveries, leadership, current frontiers and vision in this critical domain of public health.

    • The 10th George G. Graham Lecture , 12:00 – 1:15 pm Sheldon Hall

    Kelly Brownell, Director of the World Food Policy Center at Duke University 

    • Hopkins Nutrition Centennial Symposium, 1:30 – 4:10 pm Sheldon Hall

    Speakers from multiple centers in the Schools of Public Health and Medicine 

    • DSM/Sight and Life Scholars Lecture:  Our Hungry Planet: What the World Eats a photo-journey, 4:30 – 5:30 pm Sommer Hall

    Peter Menzel and Faith D’Aluisio, award-winning photo-journalists

    *complimentary copies of What I Eat: Around the World in 80 Diets will be available to the first 350 attendees 

     

    • Hopkins Nutrition Centennial Reception, 5:30 – 7:00 pm Feinstone Hall
