or

The Johns Hopkins School of Nursing (JHSON) ranked #6 in the 2016 U.S. News & World Report’s Best Online Nursing Programs rankings. This is the second year in a row that the school has been ranked in the top 10.

Commenting on the ranking, Patricia Davidson, dean of JHSON, said, “We are again pleased to be recognized for our online programs, especially since we focus on limited class size and having online faculty with advanced degrees. In order to build capacity within the profession and meet the healthcare needs of tomorrow, nursing schools must invest in online programs to increase assess for future nurses. We are committed to expanding our online programs and we’re currently conducting an extensive review which will address content, platform, scope and size, while providing a quality learning experience.”

Currently, the JHSON offers the following online Master’s and Post-Degree Programs:

“We realize that other institutions have a larger role in the online space and we’ve been doing our due diligence to determine what’s right for us and how we can expand our online programs that continue to be aligned with the Johns Hopkins tradition of excellence,” said Davidson.

U.S. News & World Report ranked JHSON #3 in online programs in 2015— the first year in online rankings. The drop is attributed to a rapidly growing online market in nursing with larger and well developed programs emerging. JHSON was recently ranked #5 by OnlineColleges.net for its online programs.
