Have you gotten your booster?

Welcome to #ProtectYouBoth

Find your free vaccine at vaccines.gov

We are glad you are here.

Pregnant, postpartum and lactating women and people, and their infants face high risks from COVID. Thankfully, COVID vaccines are safe and protect lives. We know that the protection from COVID vaccines passes on to the fetus during pregnancy and to the infant during lactation. In other words, COVID vaccines #ProtectYouBoth.

Unfortunately, 41% of all pregnant women and people, 58% of Black pregnant women and people, and 50% of Hispanic pregnant women and people have not received a booster. Worse, there are significant racial and ethnic inequities among those who have received the COVID vaccines. Similarly, many postpartum and lactating people also remain unvaccinated and many still face barriers to vaccination. We are here to help!

Low vaccine booster rates are now a key factor in COVID-19 deaths – and racial disparities in booster rates persist, August 30, 2022

The Conversation piece discusses the emerging that evidence that only 29% of Black adults had received boosters by January 2022, as compared with 45% of white adults and 52% of Asian American adults. Studies suggest that adults age 50 and older who receiver a booster shot have 90% lower death rates from COVID-19 than those who only receive the initial vaccine regimen. Booster campaigns and strategies to make boosters more accessible can help address the disparities.
