Janelle Akomah

Janelle Akomah, a board-certified family nurse practitioner, is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, and bioinformatics with a minor in chemistry at Towson University. She then earned her master’s in nursing from University of Maryland Baltimore. After graduation, she became a nurse at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Dr. Akomah later earned her FNP-DNP degree at Loyola University and practiced as a family nurse practitioner in the home health field, catering toward the geriatric and disabled population. In addition to her faculty commitment at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, she has an independent practice providing home health, primary care, and aesthetics.
